About Nick Smock

I didn\'t start in defense strategy. I started with a camera. Building VIDS Corp put me on the ground at live test events and inside programs like Robotic Combat Vehicle, Project Convergence, and SOCOM S&T Futures — and somewhere along the way, I stopped just documenting the work and started shaping it. My focus has shifted to helping build and bring drone systems to market with AG3 Labs, most recently guiding them to a top-four finish among 267 applicants in the US Army xTech Counter-Strike competition. I also represent Michigan\'s unmanned systems community through the Michigan Drone Association and am pursuing a Master\'s in Systems Engineering at Wayne State, with research focused on counter-UAS threat validation. The throughline across all of it: turning complexity into clarity, and capability into adoption.
