ABOUT NICK SHORTEN

Joining the energy sector at the age of 21 was an exciting prospect. Today, as our industry embarks on its latest – and perhaps most crucial – challenge, I’m as proud as ever to support the world’s evolving energy needs. I’ve enjoyed a varied career, developing through roles in structural design, engineering & construction management, project management, and business leadership. This journey led me to Wood, where I currently serve as Executive President of the Projects business unit. At Wood, we are designing and engineering the energy and materials markets to a more sustainable and safer future, enabling access to more affordable and reliable energy and resources. Trusted by clients to design and advance the world, our people design solutions to some of the world’s most complex and critical challenges in energy and materials. I am highly people-oriented, open, and approachable, with a passion for building and developing high-performing teams in projects, business, and sport. In my spare time, I am a sporting enthusiast with extensive experience in coaching, managing, and directing at various levels of youth and semi-professional football (soccer). I have a passion for developing individual talent through mentoring and coaching to nurture future leaders.
