About Nick Shipley
I began my career in horticulture when I was 12 years old, working for my father in his tropical plant greenhouses in Nova Scotia, Canada-Civano Nursery In 1998, I started Civano Nursery with my father and two brothers. Civano Nursery began as a landscaping, garden center, and tree-moving company-Civano Growers In 2003, we started Civano Growers, which services landscapers, re-wholesalers, independent garden centers, and growers all over the Southwest, Texas, and California. We specialize in cultivated Southwest native plants that thrive in the harsh urban areas of the Southwest, Texas, and California-Civano Ornamentals Plant breeding has been a hobby of mine since 2004. Today, this hobby has been transformed into Civano Ornamentals. This fully-fledged plant breeding company focuses on introducing drought-tolerant, hardy plants for the Southwest, Texas, and California urban landscapes. We strive to introduce plants that will thrive in our extreme urban environments.
