About Nick Ptak
I currently work as a traffic engineer at Mead & Hunt in Raleigh, NC. My skills include traffic signal design, electrical wiring details, utility make ready work, fiber optic cable routing, crash analysis, and some experience in traffic operations. Why did I choose a career in traffic engineering? Well one of the main reasons I love being a traffic engineer is because I hate traffic. Rather than just complain about traffic (which I still do at times) I rather try to help contribute into helping solve traffic problems wherever needed. I graduated at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering I enjoy solving analytical problems that require strategy and deep thoughts. Whether it is a game or a project, I enjoy searching new and innovative ways to find solutions for problems. I also believe in helping and serving those who are in need. In addition to my career in Civil Engineering, one of my life goals is to one day be able to donate my engineering skills to help build/renovate safe houses to be Eco-friendly for people who have come out of trafficking and abusive homes.
