About Nick Neuman

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother, an art teacher, instilled in me a deep appreciation for fine art, while my grandfather, a carpenter, taught me the importance of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Together, they shaped how I see the world—through creativity, curiosity, and care.That foundation led me to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and begin my professional career as a graphic designer. Over the years, I had the opportunity to support creative teams and brands such as OshKosh B’Gosh, Carter’s, ShopKo, Kleenex, Huggies, Kwik Trip, and Disney. While working in corporate environments strengthened my technical skills and design thinking, I ultimately felt called to pivot my career toward teaching and mentorship.Today, I teach art to elementary students at St. Francis Xavier after earning my Wisconsin Educator License. Kids are, without question, my favorite artists. Their work is raw, honest, and deeply expressive—they haven’t learned the “rules” yet, and instead create based on how they see the world. I don’t seek perfection in art, and I encourage my students to let their creativity wander freely.When I’m not teaching, I’m usually exercising my creativity by designing prints and patterns or spending quality time with my family. My wife, Vicki, and I have two amazing kids, Kaydence (16) and Sam (12).
