ABOUT NICK MILES

I was one of those typical young boys who when asked ‘what do you want to be when you’re older?’ would answer, ‘a footballer’. Many years later, that dream became a reality. Briefly. And on the whole, unsuccessfully! My chosen career path didn’t go to plan, but whose does? I’d guess the answer is very few. Before my current role, I spent close to 20 years working in banking, and through my teenage years and even into my early twenties, banking was not a career path I’d considered. But it happened (by chance), and it allowed me to learn about a whole new world I now spend a disproportionate amount of time talking about! I love talking to people, perhaps too much at times. I sometimes find it difficult to find the ‘off’ switch, but that’s because I’m passionate about what I do and the company I work for. I’m in a unique and privileged position to be help grow an already successful company with huge aspirations. I have amazing colleagues, from varied and very different backgrounds, who as a collective make my working world a better place. Contentment in my working life allows me to truly enjoy my life away from work with my beautiful wife, amazing son, beloved dog Zola, and my very close and trusted network of friends. I\'m also blessed to have the most amazing and supportive parents and siblings.(I can say what I want about my parents on here, as they\'re not LinkedIn users!) Joking aside, I was always encouraged to follow my gut instinct, and they instilled the core values that make me who I am today. And for those who know me best know I wear my heart on my sleeve and I do things with a smile on my face. I\'d be lying if I said I\'d loved every job I\'ve done over the past 20 or so years, but what I can factually state is in my current role I\'m now able to draw on that 20 year banking experience and genuinely put some of those skills and learning into practice with the conversations and engagement I have on a daily basis.
