ABOUT NICK MCEWEN

Nick McEwen joined JPC LLP in July 2024. He qualified as a solicitor in January 2018, having trained at a boutique law firm in central London.Nick builds an excellent rapport with his clients. When asked to describe himself, he says he is “anything a company needs — their go-to guy,” reflecting his complementary expertise across both corporate/commercial work and litigation.Nick excels in commercial and business matters, specialising in corporate transactions ranging from straightforward acquisitions to multi-million-pound deals. He has significant experience drafting a wide range of corporate and commercial documents, including shareholder and partnership agreements, general commercial contracts, and internal governance documents.Litigation is another of Nick’s strengths. He adopts a formidable yet pragmatic approach to each case, providing clients with clear, strategic advice throughout the process. Nick has a keen ability to determine when a firm stance is required and when a more conciliatory approach will best achieve his client’s objectives.Nick particularly enjoys matters with an international dimension. Among his notable cases are securing a security for costs order against a China-domiciled claimant (2020), and acting in Manetta v De Filippo [2020] EWHC 3460 (QB), a case concerning the conversion of an Italian freezing injunction into an English enforcement remedy.In addition, Nick has a sub-specialism in reputation management and defamation.
