After graduating with a BS in Construction Management and spending over ten years in the construction industry I decided to make a career change to follow my passion for growing premium wine grapes in the Napa Valley, earning a AS degree with Honors in Viticulture from Napa Valley College. Starting as a Viticulture Technician, then Vineyard Development Coordinator and now Operations Manager for Renteria Vineyard Management I have overseen the Vineyard Development Department installing new or replanting over 500 acres of vineyards in the Napa Valley. Working directly under Renteria\'s Chief Operating Officer my responsibilities have included managing multiple departments and personnel, Project Management of new vineyard developments, vineyard material orders, client coordination, irrigation design and implementation, heavy equipment and operator coordination for ground preparation, third party vendor coordination, drainage installation, vineyard staking, end post, trellis installation, ECP installation and monitoring, development budgets, special project cost estimation, creation and implementation of company objectives and action plans and AgCode metrics review and work orders. Viticulture duties have included developing replanting plans for all ranches, working with nurseries to fulfill vine orders and planting needs, reviewing nursery contracts, fertilization and amendment orders and coordination, budwood and grafting program and olive tree maintenance and harvesting. My past work experience working in the Construction Management Industry concentrated on meeting critical client needs and expectations and managing subcontractors from pre-construction and construction phases to final project turnover for both full service General Contracting and Commercial Plumbing design firms. My responsibilities included overall project management and coordination, cost and budget estimating, subcontractors management, drafting and reviewing contracts, managing the RFI and submittal management, monitoring and tracking change order impact, equipment procurement, reviewing contractor pay applications, identifying value engineering options, maintaining schedule, tracking budget and managing the closeout process. I have utilized Primavera, Microsoft Project, Prolog, Prolog Converge and Constructware as well as a variety of other management software.
