About Nick Kile
Nick practices primarily in Barnes & Thornburg\'s Government Services Department and is co-chair of the firm\'s Energy, Telecommunications and Utilities Practice Group. He represents utilities and local governments in all facets of utility law and local government. His practice includes rates and charges, annexation, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, lobbying, environmental regulation, condemnation and eminent domain, territorial disputes, government modernization and reorganization, and appeals. He regularly practices before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, where he has worked on nearly 100 general rate cases - including future test year, historic test year, and hybrid test period cases. He also has several trial court general rate cases involving utilities that are not regulated. His undergraduate degree in Accounting gives him a unique perspective for the general rate case. He has also represented the municipality in some of the biggest and most controversial annexations in the state.
