ABOUT NICK HAYHURST
Nick is a founding Director of Hayhurst and Co. Architects. He studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, the Architectural Association and the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Whilst at the Architectural Association Nick was the recipient of the Enid Caldicott Bursary, the Future Practice Prize, an honours nomination and was later a scholar at the British School at Rome (Boas Scholarship, 2003). Nick founded Tyler Hayhurst in 2004 and later reformed the practice as Hayhurst and Co. in 2009.Nick leads the design direction of the practice. Hayhurst and Co has won numerous industry awards including RIBA Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014, the NLA Award for the Best Building in London in 2013 and the prestigious Architectural Review Schools Award 2015. The practice was awarded 2nd place in Building Design’s Young Architect of the Year Award (YAYA) and in 2014 was shortlisted for RIBA London Emerging Architect of the Year.Nick has lectured at the University of Brighton since 2004 where he is currently a Senior Lecturer and Area Leader for Future Practice. He has led design studios at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, led the MArch and PGDip courses and been a visiting design critic at a number of leading UK schools of architecture. Nick has sat on the RIBA UK Validation Panel of schools of architecture since 2002 and has been an Advisory Board Member to the RIBA\'s \'Building Futures\' think tank since 2007. He was appointed to the Southwark Design Review Panel in 2012, was a judge for the RIBA Awards in 2013 and appointed to the Design South East Design Review Panel in 2014.
