ABOUT NICK ECCLESTON

I\'m Nick, I have spent the last 6 years as an Officer in the British Army.Thrust in to command of 30 young men and women at the age of just 22 I was thrown in at the deep end and told to swim. And this was WITH a year of training at the most prestigious leadership academy in the world. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.From day one of RMAS through to deployments all over the world I have experienced many different types of leaders.Some of these were fantastic, inspiring, forward-thinking leaders, others were far from one. The best leaders worked off one defining principle:They did not always have the right answer.Often the leaders willing to listen to the team around them created an innovative environment where new ideas could thrive. It was then down to the responsibility of that leader to take that idea and deliver measurable results.There are many examples of both good and bad leadership that I could talk about but the experiences of dealing with poor leaders in an organisation that is renowned for amazing leaders made me realise that other organisations and communities would need help.This created a desire to help other organisations and communities with their leadership and management development.Upon leaving the Army earlier this year, I came across 10X Managers and realised this is what they were trying to achieve.Not just short-term fixes but a genuine focus on culture change by identifying issues within the organisation and building a bespoke package with a focus on community learning for each and every organisation we work with.
