About Nicholas Poggioli
Nicholas Poggioli is Assistant Professor of Sustainable Business and Management at the Appalachian State University Walker College of Business. He studies and teaches sustainable business, business ethics, and strategy. His research seeks to understand market and company structures and practices that achieve economically, ecologically, and socially sustainable businesses. Prior to joining Appalachian, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan‘s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, a partnership between the Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. Before entering academia, he was a Park Ranger (Education) in Yellowstone National Park, a cashier at outdoor retailer REI, and an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in New Orleans managing a service-learning partnership between Tulane University and the nonprofit Gulf Restoration Network (now Healthy Gulf).
