About Nicholas Brown
I’m curious to my core. My curiosity led me to pursue dual degrees in applied physics and electrical engineering while also minoring in mathematics. Then I stumbled upon popular coding tutorial site, Treehouse. I knew my 6-year career as a software tester would be ending after I completed the Ruby/Rails track. I was hooked and had to learn more.Now as a student at General Assembly in their Web Development Immersive, I am following my passion to learn everything there is to web development. I’m currently studying- Version control system git and GitHub- Deployment with Heroku- HTML5 and CSS3- Relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB- MVC and REST architectural models- Ruby language and Ruby-based frameworks such as Sinatra and Ruby on Rails- Javascript language and several JS-based libraries/frameworks including JQuery, Angular.js, Express.js, and Node.jsI am seeking employment opportunities as a junior full-stack developer starting June 2016. I want to utilize my hard-earned skills to tackle real-world problems. My 6-years of experience as a software tester in an Agile environment allows me to become a contributor sooner than later.
