ABOUT NICHOLAS DIDONATO
Hi! I am a second-year undergraduate student at UCI pursuing my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I am passionate about flow physics and propulsion and hope to start a career in the automotive or motorsports industry. I am an aerodynamics lead engineer at UCI for the Formula SAE internal combustion engine team. I have gained hands-on experience in aerodynamic design and optimization through SolidWorks, computational fluid dynamics in Ansys Fluent and manufacturing via resin infusion. Currently, I am fabricating the aerodynamic body kit for our 2026 competition car Banshee, of which I designed the body, nosecone, and undertray/diffuser.Further, I recently completed an Internship at Solutions Matter, LLC, a biomedical device manufacturing company. I fabricated several different devices, including catheters and semi-permanent contraceptives, preparing them for testing, FDA inspection, and clinical trials.
