Dr. Nicholas Chmielewski leads BRG’s Emergency Care Solutions Team, where he brings a dynamic blend of clinical leadership, informatics expertise, and operational strategy to emergency department (ED) optimization and broader healthcare consulting. With hands-on experience in over 75 EDs across 21 states, he has led transformative projects that have delivered measurable improvements in patient throughput, staffing efficiency, and clinical outcomes.His consulting portfolio includes high-impact engagements at magnet facilities, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. Notable achievements include a $3.35 million labor savings through staffing-to-demand modeling at a Northeast urban hospital, and a $4.57 million benefit at a Midwest Level 1 trauma center, which subsequently earned the Lantern Award. In California, he helped reduce LWBS rates from 7.5% to 1.1%, cut door-to-provider times by 49 minutes, and improved discharge length of stay by 124 minutes. His work also led to a dramatic increase in sepsis compliance rates—from 26% to 88%.Beyond consulting, Chmielewski has held director-level and associate chief nursing officer roles, including interim assignments overseeing multiple departments and sites.
