About Nicholas Guth
Experienced Assistant Coach with a demonstrated history of working in the law practice industry. Skilled in American Sign Language, Public Speaking, Writing, and Personal Interaction. Strong community and social services professional with a Doctor of Law - JD focused in Litigation from Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law.A strong proponent of mock trial, I\'ve dedicated much of my life to coaching high school students the basics of trial advocacy in preparation for courtroom competition. That position has allowed me to travel with many of those students around the globe. We\'ve been to Greece, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Panama, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, England, Ireland, and Scotland. I believe these experiences have provided me with an open mind and heart, and given me communication skills unparalleled to those I\'d receive doing anything else. I believe I\'ve done well to make it a point to meet people from different backgrounds, and learn new things about those unlike myself. Through a volunteer project at Penn designed to bring its undergraduates into the city center as companions for those effected by homelessness, I have been able to listen to the stories of those people effected not just by homelessness, but drug addiction and poverty. As Vice President of my fraternity, Sigma Nu, I have been able to advocate for a more inclusive environment, one I and others like me are fully comfortable being LGBT men. Through the Department of Language, I have gained skills in American Sign Language, a language I have since used to communicate with members of the deaf community, a community that experiences rejection, discrimination, and loneliness in a hearing world.
