Designing, simulating, and scaling electromechanical and magnetic actuator systems for autonomous amphibious robots performing ship hull inspections. Lead engineer for electromagnetic and mechanical assemblies, driving development from concept through design, simulation, manufacturing and field validation.Built and deployed a multi-physics MuJoCo simulation framework modeling electromagnetics, robot kinematics, dynamics, and contact mechanics. Scaled custom actuator and magnetics production from prototype to in-house manufacturing (>200 units), optimizing for cost, reliability, and performance.Developed hardware-in-the-loop test rigs, sensorized calibration systems, and failure mitigation protocols for magnetic, mechanical, and electrical subsystems. Collaborated across global supply chains and interdisciplinary teams to integrate and validate designs in marine environments.Oversaw R&D safety and lab operations as EH & S lead, managing hazardous materials and lab safety protocols. Managed rapid prototyping resources including 3D printers, laser cutters, and fume extraction systems for agile hardware iteration.
