Hi, I\'m Nicholas, and I\'m a developer and engineering leader who enjoys building teams, working with product and across functions, and furthering the technical systems, skillsets and processes that organizations use. I\'m forever a student at heart, and my passions are exploring new technologies, coaching in tech and occasionally running off to the woods with my dog. Formerly I was the Director of Student Experience and Full-Stack Software Engineer at Launch Academy, where I lead our team of engineers to build and maintain our learning education platform and train junior full-stack engineers in latest cutting edge technologies. My expertise is in fullstack technologies like Ruby on Rails, Node JS, React, etc, with a focus on API development and integrations. I also have vast experience in technical coaching, software and curriculum management event organization. My personal interests include: productivity and new technologies, hiking and foraging, standup comedy in Boston, D&D and reading and writing strange but interesting stories.    Designing and building a greenfield Next.js application to replace a legacy platform serving millions of customers annually, working across the full frontend stack with TypeScript, Material UI, React, Redux, and an NX monorepo architecture• Optimizing application performance through improved load times, smarter re-render strategies, and caching at the Next.js framework level• Developing and maintaining shared component libraries within an NX monorepo serving multiple applications• Proposing and implementing new design patterns and architectural standards for the engineering team, including Next.js server-side component rendering practices and data-fetching strategies• Partnering with the Product Manager and Director of Web Development on project planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement, effectively serving as a project manager for the team• Managing release schedules and coordinating deployments across the development lifecycle• Serving as the key liaison to the end-to-end QA team, coordinating test coverage and ensuring quality gates are met prior to each release• Reviewing all team pull requests and serving as the primary escalation point for both product and technical decisions• Collaborating cross-functionally on new product initiatives, including consulting on company acquisitions and platform integration strategy
