The construction industry is truly one of amazing feats and one in which I am privileged to be a part of. With the tools we use to make structures come to life, those structures in turn become the tools others will use to make the dreams of today, tomorrow’s realities. Through the combination of art and functionality we enhance people’s lives and alter the face of the communities and the world in which we live. With diligence and teamwork we break barriers and are constantly striving to be better than the standard. It\'s been an interesting and winding road that has led me to where I am today and given the chance there are very few things I would change about it. Growing up with a father who is an architect exposed me to the process of building things from the very start. I\'ve had a few jobs in construction starting out in high school building homes in the summer and eventually working for Shiel Sexton in the summer I took some time off from the industry to pursue college and the media arts but eventually found myself back at Shiel and that is where I stayed for 10 years. During those 10 years I saw myself go from a laborer to a carpenter, from the field to the office, and from a project coordinator to the head of initiatives for clients like DOW AgroSciences\' assisting their R&D sites in the United States and Puerto Rico and Canada ensuring quality and safety of contractors. I spent 5 years running all of the operations for a medical construction/manufacturing company that specializes in modular buildings specifically for MR and CT imaging, delivering successful projects from coast to coast. I am now trying my hand business development for Garmong Construction. Garmong Construction offers nearly a century of construction experience and over man-hours of grit in our wrinkles (wrinkles we’re proud of), as well as an innovative spirit (ammunition boxes during WWII…more on that later), and today we are one of the leading Construction Management companies in Indiana. Design-Build and General Contracting services are second nature to us as well. We remain family-owned (fourth generation, with more on that later too), and have offices in Terre Haute, Evansville and Indianapolis (ranked twice as one of the Top 25 fastest growing companies by the Indianapolis Business Journal).
