Long term power generation planning for LG & E and KU. Using various software applications, our team develops long term generation portfolio plans to meet customer energy demands in the least cost and most reliable way while meeting regulatory and environmental regulations.We also assist with data support and drafting of regulatory testimony preparations for various hearings with the Kentucky Public Service Commission including Rate Reviews, Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN), Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), Fuel Adjustment Clause and Levelized Fuel Factor for ODP territory in Virginia. Our team models generation production costs as well as develops the forecasted fuel burn projections as part of the annual Business Plan. Furthermore, we model and evaluate new technology options, including solar, BESS, nuclear SMR, and others, to see if and how they can best fit into our future capacity expansion plans.
