About Nicholas Rorrer
Currently I work as the group manager for the Polymer Science and Engineering Team at NREL where I lead a team of predominately early career researchers in the areas of polymer synthesis, polymer design, polymer characterization, and polymer deconstruction supporting multiple principal investigators across a large portfolio of Department of Energy and Industry funded work. Our laboratories possess the capabilities to characterize nearly every polymer produced today for their structure and thermomechanical properties while also being able to study their synthesis and deconstruction on up to the 10 kg scale. In addition to being a manager, I also lead my own projects as a principal investigator that are predominantly focused on redesign today\'s materials to have better performance in either their manufacturing, use phase, or end-of-life. This can include the incorporation of bioderivable building blocks to augment the properties of today\'s materials to be more desirable or by leveraging recyclable chemistries that can meet both the performance and manufacturing requirements of today\'s materials while enabling their inherent recyclability. On my profile, you can see my current Top 5 publications, but my full publication list can be found on my Google Scholar & hl=en ) or OrcID )
