About Nicholas Propson
I am a self-motivated scientist with a Bachelor\'s degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine. Throughout my career I have demonstrated the aptitude for driving my independent ideas forward and integrating them into successful team led research projects. My most refined skills are in stem cell/iPSC differentiation and derivation, molecular cloning, animal tissue analyses (proteomic, transcriptomic, and immunohistochemical), flow cytometry of cells and dissociated tissues, mouse model genetics for disease modeling, and blood-brain barrier and vascular integrity analyses. My past and recent work has focused primarily on functional use of CNS derived cell types from hESCs/iPSCs or analyses of CNS tissues or cells in disease models.
