About Nicholas Lopez

Driven by a passion for making policy more equitable and accessible through clear, community-informed communication, I have served as a public servant, government consultant, and nonprofit strategist. I currently work as a Policy and Legislative Intern at Constantinople & Vallone Consulting, where I support state and local advocacy efforts across housing, education, and land use. In this role, I conduct legislative and budget analysis, track policy developments, and help shape client strategy through research and communications support. Previously, I worked at the New York City Housing Authority’s Legal Department, where I supported resolution efforts by closing out dozens of high-priority FOIL cases. I streamlined compliance workflows, processed sensitive records, and improved data accuracy across departments. Before that, I interned at Worcester City Hall, where I contributed to the Housing First Task Force’s strategic plan to reduce homelessness. I’ve also held development and program roles at youth-focused nonprofits, where I secured over in grant funding and generated in new endowment revenue by leading streamlined tracking systems and donor cultivation efforts. I graduated cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies. I am now based in Brooklyn and pursuing my M.P.A. in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy at NYU Wagner, with a focus on legislative research, public systems, and government relations. As a first-generation college and graduate student from Lawrence, Massachusetts, my work is grounded in lived experience and a belief that public systems should uplift the communities they serve. I am committed to a career that bridges policy and practice, centers people, and drives sustainable local change.
