Nick has over 38 years of experience in the sales and use tax space including consulting for public and privately held clients. Nick spent a significant amount of time as a Principal in a National Accounting firm as well as a Principal with a large National state and local tax firm. Nick brings valuable and extensive experience working within numerous issues within Indirect Tax. His background spans several industries including Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Oil and Gas, Mining, Financial Institutions, Life Sciences and Food and Beverage industries. Professional and Industry ExperienceNick\'s experience includes:Assisting numerous clients with complex structures to insure that proper methods are in place to streamline the compliance filing requirement to assist in reducing their use tax liabilities. Nick has worked extensively in Ohio among other states assisting clients and successfully defending them in audit saving them millions of dollars. Nick also has significant experience setting up direct pay permits in several states including single rate implementations. Nick is currently working with several clients associated with the recent Supreme Court decision in South Dakota v. Wayfair in order to minimize future sales tax liability. Nick\'s responsibilities include nexus and taxability studies as well as preparing Voluntary Disclosure Agreements. Nick is currently working with several clients and implementing exemption certificate management databases to gain control of sales in which tax is not charged to its customers to minimize and/or eliminate future liabilities. Nick also assists clients in preparing matrices to assist in making taxability decisions. Throughout Nick\'s career he has successfully led and managed teams to perform sales and use tax recovery (reverse audits) projects which resulted in millions of sales tax savings for many clients over the years, as well as putting in place prospectively fix the tax reporting function.
