Use a wide range of microbiological and molecular techniques to isolate and characterize new microbes for homebrewers and craft brewers- Create and manage an extensive bank of master and working yeast and bacteria freezer stocks- Run extensive test fermentations on new strains and blends of microbes to assess organoleptic qualities and utility for beer production- Interface with customers in both the homebrewing and craft brewing communities to provide support for the use of Yeast Bay cultures and help them achieve desired fermentation profiles- Work closely with White Labs, The Yeast Bay’s contract manufacturer, to bank new cultures, schedule propagations, and implement and manage quality control strategies

Our Mission: Provide commercially unavailable and rare strains of yeast and bacteria to the homebrewing and craft brewing communities in high quality liquid culture. Yeast and bacteria are the most important components in the brewing process, as they serve as the bridge between the wort brewers produce and the beer it\'s transformed into during fermentation. During this transformation these organisms create a myriad of flavors, aromas and other metabolites that largely define the character of the beer. We strive to isolate and make available the most characterful and distinctive cultures on the market. Our goal is that when brewers use our cultures, the end result is a cornucopia of previously unattainable flavors and aromas that enhance the sensory experience of the finished beer. While we head up the isolation and characterization of new and unique yeast and bacteria in-house, since starting the business in 2013 we have partnered with White Labs for our culture manufacturing needs. This relationship is special because it allows us the freedom to create new and unique cultures, while at the same time ensuring that any products reaching customers meet the same high quality standards White Labs sets for their own products. Brewing great beer is hard, sourcing unique cultures should be easy.
