I am a field researcher with the Coastal Processes Group at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Blue Carbon Coordinator at the San Diego Audubon Society. With the CPG, my research focuses on utilizing remote sensing to map sandy shorelines within California and detect coastal changes. With SDAS, I am working on quantifying the carbon storage and sequestration capabilities of coastal marine ecosystems in the San Diego region, specifically at the Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve.

Under the direct guidance of a senior researcher, applies acquired skills and knowledge of applicable research discipline to support small to medium size and intermediate-scope and complexity field research projects. Perform a variety of data analysis, reporting, programming, and fieldwork tasks related to oceanographic processes that support field research projects. Assist experienced staff to collect GPS and LiDAR coastal surveys and maintain field and laboratory equipment. Assist with field work pertaining to scientific instrument deployment, recovery, and maintenance. Assist experienced staff to collect GPS and LiDAR coastal surveys and maintain field and laboratory equipment. Assist with lab upkeep and organization. Process point cloud survey data using canned software. Quality control data by following established steps to digitally remove extraneous data points from beach surveys. Assist with database organization and management. Under PI supervision and guidance, process and analyze oceanographic and survey data. Prepare data plots and figures for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations. Research and download available coastal satellite data and become proficient in available data processing and analysis tools.
