About Nicholas Bennett

I have been passionately involved in the world of tennis as a professional instructor and coach since 2003, a journey that began while I was pursuing my studies at Grand Valley State University. During those formative years, I had the privilege of leading the Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Tennis Program at Western Michigan High School from 2003 to 2005, and I joyfully returned to guide the program once again in 2019. In 2006, I became part of the vibrant community at McLean Swim and Tennis, where I worked under the mentorship of Marty Hublitz, contributing to the youth tennis program. After dedicating several years as an assistant professional, I was honored to be promoted to Head Tennis Professional in 2009. I embraced this role with enthusiasm, fostering the growth of young athletes until 2013, when I stepped into the position of Director of Junior Development at Poplar Heights Swim and Tennis in Falls Church. In 2014, I returned to the welcoming environment of McLean Swim and Tennis as the Director of Tennis, where I oversaw and enriched both junior and adult programming until 2017. Enhancing my professional development has always been a top priority, serving as a cornerstone of my career. In 2012, I proudly achieved certification through the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), earning four professional designations in Junior Development (ages 11–17), High Performance, and Adult Development. The pinnacle of my efforts came in 2019 when I attained Elite Professional status with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to excellence and leadership in coaching and instruction. My dedication was recognized when I was honored as the 2013 PTR Virginia Member of the Year, and I was also awarded the prestigious Best of McLean award for tennis instruction in both 2016 and 2017. The relationships I\'ve built and the positive impact I\'ve made on players\' lives are the true rewards of my journey in this incredible sport.
