About Nico Cabalquinto
Nico (they/she) serves as the Product Realization Assistant with the Brooklyn Newlab team, where they thrive at the intersection of art and technology. As a creative technologist, Nico collaborates with lighting artists and new media agencies to design and assemble interactive installations and LED lighting projects. In their role as a lighting director, they have contributed to an Oscar-nominated immersive documentary and sensory experience, which has toured across the United States. Additionally, as a production manager, Nico oversees the integration of lighting, audio, and video elements for experimental performance art. In their personal practice as a multidisciplinary light artist, Nico utilizes digital fabrication tools to create site-specific, audio-reactive lighting installations. Their work has been showcased in Brooklyn music venues, including Knockdown Center, Elsewhere, and National Sawdust. Nico earned their Master of Professional Studies from NYU Tisch’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.
