I work at Substack, making tools that help independent creators earn money directly from their subscribers + an app for people to find content that\'s actually worth paying for. It\'s a new kind of social media: still for profit, with all the hazards that entails; but without the advertising, emotional hijacking, or attention fracking.I\'m interested in technology education and pedagogy. I previously taught web development to several cohorts of students at Lighthouse Labs, a Toronto developer bootcamp; ran onboarding programs for interns and new grad hires; and designed training programs for clients adopting new technologies.Outside of work you can find me smelling old books, feeding chickens, wearing bright colours, dancing on stage, and waking up early to see the sun rise.
