About Nia Powers

I’m a Communications major with an Entrepreneurship minor, and I’m someone who tries not to stay comfortable for too long. I look for leadership roles that challenge me and help me grow, which is why I am serving as the Pledge Education Chair for Alpha Kappa Psi and representing students on the Provost Board of the College of Communication. I’m also involved with VolTeam and Alpha Chi Omega, where I’ve learned how much I enjoy being part of communities that value connection and accountability.Studying abroad in Dublin pushed me even further, giving me a new perspective on communication and reminding me how important it is to say yes to new experiences. I’m also completing an apprenticeship with LEO Events, where I’m gaining hands-on experience in event communication and strategy.At the end of the day, I care about people, learning, and doing work that feels meaningful. I’m excited to keep growing, keep leading, and keep finding opportunities that push me to grow!

   Serve as Pledge Education Chair for Alpha Kappa Psi, leading the development, planning, and facilitation of weekly educational meetings for the incoming pledge class- Act as the primary point of contact and mentor for all pledges, providing guidance, communication, and support to ensure a successful and professional onboarding experience.
