About Jordan Nguyen

I am a rising sophomore mechanical engineering student in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. With a passion in engineering and a strong foundation in math, I am seeking internship opportunities in the engineering field to further develop my technical and soft skills. With proficiency in MATLAB, Arduino, and a certification in SolidWorks, I am eager to tackle problems and innovate in the engineering field. I am motivated to pursue a career in the motorsport industry, but I am open to all opportunities to gain experience and learn more.My involvement in Gator Motorsport, a club at the University of Florida that designs and manufactures a Formula-one style racecar, has allowed me to receive hands on experience with designing integral parts of the racecar and work with a team. I have currently worked with a team to design a working jig to test the torsional strength of an rear anti-roll bar. I have also worked on designing a mount to attach a damper potentiometer to front and rear bell cranks. This experience has helped me develop my teamwork and organization skills in order to meet team deadlines.My role as fundraising officer in the Suncoast Aerospace Club provided me experience with reaching out to organizations and institutions to request for sponsorships and/or supplies to develop parts of the FlipSat-1. The FlipSat-1 is a payload that was sent to space with microchips and varying methods of radiation protection to test which method was optimal.
