I\'m a Principal Scientist at the CRUK-AstraZeneca Functional Genomics Centre, Cancer Research Horizons (CRH, CRUK), where I build and harness advanced CRISPR tools to conduct genetic screens in cancer models. My focus is on uncovering novel targets and resistance mechanisms for innovative cancer treatments. Additionally, I facilitate the commercialization of CRUK-funded research, ensuring a seamless transition from innovation to market impact. With over 16 years of expertise spanning stem cells, epigenetics, HIV, and cancer biology, I\'ve successfully led research initiatives across North America, Europe, and Asia. My approach is characterized by technical proficiency, analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, persuasive communication, and a commitment to teamwork. My academic journey includes an M.Sc. in Molecular and Human Genetics from Banaras Hindu University, India, where my interest in Epigenetics began. I completed my PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, characterizing transition proteins TP1 and TP2. I then explored stem cells during my first postdoc at Purdue University, studying pluripotency gene regulation. In my second postdoc at the University of Paris, I conducted CRISPR screens to identify epigenetic regulators and HIV latency factors.I am also passionate about investing in and supporting startups that have the potential to transform the life sciences and healthcare sectors. As a Newton Venture Fellow and an Angel Investment Fellow, I have acquired the skills and knowledge to evaluate, negotiate, and scale up promising ventures. I leverage my scientific expertise and business mindset to drive prudent investments and innovations that can have a positive impact on society.
