Biophor Diagnostics develops immunoassays for oral fluid specimens. Lumiphore relicenses technology to Biophor and multiple international companies for their products. United Immunoassay brokers raw IVD materials that are manufactured by multiple companies including some related to Biophor. OVERVIEW:I hold full P&L accountability for our company’s intellectual property portfolio, including both internally developed technology and in-licensed IP from the University of California - Berkeley. Throughout the IP lifecycle, from internal disclosure to expiration worldwide, I interact with Lumiphore scientists, executive leaders, and external patent professionals to ensure fulfillment of our top-priority goals.I direct and guide the Lumiphore’s R&D executives regarding the existing patent portfolio to support potential market opportunities. Additionally, I oversee maintenance activities for the existing IP and led negotiations for new IP from UC Berkeley and other rights-holders.HIGHLIGHTS: Expanded the company’s wholly-owned global patent families from zero to 10, with 3 of the families issuing claims within multiple jurisdictions worldwide (majority remain under prosecution). Played instrumental role on licensing team that captured companies 1st licenses in the radiopharmaceutical, diagnostics, and drug discovery sectors. Served as the key catalyst in prior CSO role for executive buy-in, securing the alliances that facilitated radiopharmaceutical deal.
