About Nevign Angelique Besas

I am a current undegraduate student majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with minors in Data Science and Public Health. I am interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and research, specifically related to Cancer Biology, Immunology, or Infectious Diseases. As a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines, I have developed a strong growth mindset and a sense of resilience, determination, and adaptability that allow me to excel and thrive even in the most challenging situations. As a lifetime learner, I love sharing what I learn through leadership and teaching opportunities ranging from those in the classroom to the extracurriculars I engage in. With beliefs rooted in with altruism, equity, and community, I am passionate in doing work that not only relates to what I am interested in but also best reflects these core values.In my free time I like to solve Rubik\'s Cubes competitively where I represent the Philippines. I currently hold 6 Female National Records for the Philippines and formerly ranked 3rd out of all Filipinos for 6x6 and 7x7 cubes.
