ABOUT NESTA KAJEMPOU
My name’s Nesta Yusao Kajempou and I chose Bowie State University because I wanted more than just a degree… I wanted purpose, mentorship, and a real path to make change. Coming from a multicultural background and growing up with a deep curiosity for how systems work whether they’re technological or social I saw Business Information Systems as the perfect space where tech meets people, and data leads to decisions that matter.At Bowie State, I found a community that sharpened my skills and challenged my thinking, especially with the mix of real-world projects like building dashboards for the Census Bureau or designing an autonomous vehicles, such experiences gave me not just technical expertise with tools, but confidence. I learned to work with languages like Python, R, C/C++ and SQL, and tools like Power BI, Keka and Tableau that utilise dashboard, but more importantly I learned how to turn raw data into insight, and insight into impact.
