ABOUT LAUREN MULKERN

Hands-on & trusted SAAS documentarian. I\'m known for my thorough, user-focused approach and can-do attitude. My software experience covers multiple departments, which provides me a holistic perspective of the product development lifecycle, the customer journey, and the internal and external touch points where technical writers and knowledge base managers provide value. With a background in library science, I\'m adept at finding the right answer, organizing information, and improving the user experience in substantial ways. My writing explains technical concepts to the right audiences at the right times and addresses the concerns a user would have as they use a software product to solve real-world problems. I am not a quiet technical writer who sits back and just writes docs — I\'m an active team member and regularly participate in activities such as design reviews and bug bashes. I create KPI dashboards that enable data-driven decision making, and advocate for docs as a part of the product. I don\'t hesitate to take on new subject areas. I can quickly learn and use new technologies to create quality software documentation in an environment of perpetual change. Most recently, I\'ve been building skills related to DocOps — using GitHub CoPilot as an AI assistant to maintain and add new functions to our internal tooling for docs-as-code publishing. I did not use AI to help me write this summary. However, I do use AI technologies judiciously so I can deliver quality docs faster.
