About Nerissa Broughton

I design and lead family-centered programs that support parents, caregivers, and young children, with a focus on early childhood, maternal and caregiver wellness, prevention, and 2-generation (2-Gen) approaches. With over a decade of experience across early childhood education, family systems, and community-based initiatives, I specialize in program design, strategic initiatives, family engagement, and systems-level prevention work. My work bridges policy, practice, and people to help organizations design solutions that are both human-centered and scalable.I believe the long-term health of our communities depends on strong early childhood foundations and equitable, trust-based approaches that center families’ lived experiences. My work looks beyond the “whole child” to include primary caregivers, extended family, and the broader community context, recognizing the structural barriers that shape outcomes and designing programs that intentionally counter them.Being a parent myself has deepened my commitment to supporting families during their children’s most critical developmental years in ways that honor parent voice, strengthen caregiver regulation and resilience, and reduce burnout for both families and the professionals who serve them.I’m especially interested in roles and partnerships involving: • Program leadership & strategic initiatives • Family engagement & caregiver wellness • Maternal mental health & prevention • Early childhood & 2-generation systems • Philanthropy, foundations, or cross-sector collaborationIf you’re working to build thoughtful, sustainable, family-centered solutions, I’d welcome the chance to connect.
