Dr. Nelson Marquina is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Laser Biotech International Inc. and of Clinical Technologies Research, both located in Richmond, Virginia. Clinical Technologies Research is a consulting company to manufacturers of medical devices for the USA healthcare industries. The consulting and regulatory assistance is focused on (a) the conduct of clinical trials in the areas of physical medicine and medical imaging and (b) the preparation, submission and defense of 510(k) and PMA applications to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Laser Biotech is a medical device developer and distributor focused on therapeutic lasers and non-invasive bioelectromagnetic devices for the medical, dental, podiatry, chiropractic, physical therapy, and sports performance markets. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Hamilton College, a Masters of Science in statistics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Houston and in chiropractic medicine from Logan University. He is a former Senior Scientist at NASA/Johnson Space Center (Houston) and Director of Research at Logan University (St. Louis). He was Director of Information Systems in Mars, Inc.(New Jersey) and Partner in Coopers & Lybrand\'s Information Technology Consulting Services (New York City). Dr. Marquina has served on the faculties of the University of Houston (Systems Engineering), University of Rhode Island (Electrical Engineering), the University of Minnesota (Electrical Engineering), and Virginia State University (Physics). He also held positions with GE, Honeywell and Lockheed Electronics in R&D and management. Specialties: Therapeutic lasers for dental, medical, podiatry, chiropractic, and physical therapy professionals.
