Workplace culture and fundraising might look like different worlds, but they’re both reflections of the same truth: policies shape culture, and culture shapes outcomes.As the Founder and Steward of Now This Consulting, I help mission-driven organizations live their values from the inside out by reimagining the systems that define how they work and how they raise money.In HR and operations, that means designing equity-centered policies, accountability structures, and practices that create belonging and sustainability.In fundraising, it means building ethical, community-centric strategies that strengthen relationships and, in turn, generate more abundance.My own path into this work began when I was 18, transitioning out of houselessness and advocating as a program participant in fundraising efforts. After experiencing exploitation at the hands of the nonprofit industrial complex, I set out to shift harmful practices — first in fundraising, and later in the internal systems that perpetuate harm across organizations.Today, I specialize in helping organizations navigate moments of transition, overwhelm, or reckoning — bringing both structure and care to the table. I’ve partnered with clients like Street Roots, Portland Parks Foundation, PATA, Farmers Market Fund, and 350PDX on everything from high-stakes fundraising campaigns to pay equity and accountability systems.I’m an organizational equity strategist and ethical fundraising expert with 14 years of nonprofit experience, and I currently serve on the North American Council for the Community-Centric Fundraising movement.
