Visiting Lecturer @Westminster Business School
Responsible for creating and delivering workshops on the AMBA accredited MBA and the MSc in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Enterprise Development. Lead and delivered MBA modules on Strategic Management, Developing Foresight and, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Lead and delivered MSc modules on; Design Thinking, Creativity, Enterprise Development together with Innovation and Digital Strategy. I facilitated the building of relationships for the student groups with charities and start-ups for the group projects that each of those modules involved. For both programmes the students were international, post graduate and post experience and from diverse backgrounds. Supervised 20 live projects on the MBA and 35 business plans for start-ups on the MSc. Also acted as a team coach on the MSc. Developed and delivered the MSc online during the pandemic. Involved in sundry short courses for external clients of the business school.

ABOUT NEIL BOTTEN
I describe myself on LinkedIn, as; ‘Learner and educator, future thinker, author, facilitator and aspiring polymath’ and the biggest pleasure I get is from helping people and organisations grow and growing with them. I am flattered to have received 52 recommendations on LinkedIn. Each recommendation represents a relationship where I have also learnt and grown as much as those people have benefitted. Many of these relationships are on-going.I have a passion for education and development and have been lucky enough to have had a number of roles each of which I can honestly describe as ‘The best job in the world’. I derive real pleasure when someone I am working with ‘gets it’ and then develops the idea making it even better. My reward is in helping people grow into the self that they doubt they can be.These opportunities to teach and to educate have sometimes been through semester long modules, short courses and practical, organisation based, postgraduate projects in the academic community or through private client engagements.The roles that have allowed me to do this have encompassed the private sector, the public sector and the not-for-profit sector, either through academic positions or private client engagements through my consultancy, NAB Associates.I am a natural collaborator and firmly believe that we will get further if we do not travel, or struggle alone. Diverse teams make work better and are more fun – ‘we are who we have met’. I am proud to be curious, sometimes to the point where my persistent questioning becomes annoying. I am open to new ideas and the adaptability necessary for open innovation.Although my CV shows that I have worked in a number of functions and specialisms, I have found that, increasingly, I am most inspired and enthused by wicked problems, systems thinking, strategic foresight, possible futures, innovation and design thinking. I like to build communities that feel the same and prefer to think that I am with students and clients for the long term.
