Based on a foundation of risk perception and quality technical underwriting with the following skill-sets developed over time - trading, negotiating, planning and financial reporting, wording/contract reviewing, enhanced product knowledge, training of colleagues and management of customers and brokers. On the Consumer side, success is achieved by adding value and creating/changing a proposition so that it is fit for purpose and works for the intended customer group as opposed to offering something off the shelf. Much work has involved finding new distribution routes for existing/re-branded products.
