WORK HISTORY
Director of Technology Systems @Sds Infrastructure
SDS are one of the UK’s largest stormwater attenuation companies, best known for their GeoLight storage tanks. SDS also owns the Weholite pipe brand and uses it to manufacture a wide range of attenuation, storage, clean-up and control products. My role within SDS has been to create and lead the smart systems strategy and team, from its inception to where we are today - a successful, high-growth part of the company delivering trailblazing projects to the water and construction industries. From scratch I developed a core strategy that enabled rapid product development and delivery that was both reliable and scalable, capturing data and turning it into value for both company executives and customers - effectively revolutionising what we could offer clients. This is Intellistorm. A universal control system for managing stormwater. It\'s like a time machine for water allowing capacity to be dynamically created before rainfall even begins. Early after my recruitment I worked hard to transform the business both inside and out, setting out my vision that we should be the go-to provider for technology-enabled stormwater monitoring and control. I engaged with water companies, councils and other potential clients to identify what we could do to help them achieve their targets, usually around sustainability and flood prevention. Once I knew their pain, I was able to position my strategic offering to them in terms of pain reduction through technology deployment, making the technical solution perform to successfully achieve their objectives. I did this iteratively with the customers whilst creating hardware and software modules that could be deployed across the piste. This quickly led us into a position where no-one else can claim that they have the flexibility, scalability, and resilience we have in the systems we have designed and built, and no-one else can deploy these solutions as quickly to meet the customers’ needs.
