ABOUT NEIL ROBINSON

I have worked as a CAD technician/Manager for over 25 years, with a variety of experience in Civil, Structural and Architectural Disciplines. Gaining experience to work as a BIM Manager and Engineering coordinator over recent years.My experience has covered a wide range of sectors, with specialist experience in the structural aspects of all building types, petrochemical and oil & gas facilities. As well as working in the rail sector and gaining specialism working with Heritage buildings, structures and refurbishments.Recent BIM coordination and management duties have included implementing standard working practices, document control and modelling guidance to suit BS1192, PAS 1192 and more recently BS EN 19650. With a particular aim to streamline workflows to gain BIM level 2 accreditationMain technician duties have included producing General Arrangement and Detail Drawings using Revit, AutoCAD and a variety of other 3D software. RC Detailing, adapting standard working practices to simplify the adoption of detailing to EurocodesAdditional responsibilities: liaising with Clients, Contractors and Manufacturers at all stages of projects. Carrying out detailed site survey\'s, project management and running small teams of technicians.Further to this I have created and implemented staff training, autocad courses and produced standard drawing procedure, standards and BIM protocols to gain BIM Level 2 certification for practices.A general interest in design and building has led me to complete a Ba Hons architecture degree on a part time basis. Gaining further skills in communication, visualisation, presentation, animation and curating.Outside of work this has manifested in renovating & refurbishing a church into a home, creating and curating a public arts space. Most recently joining the English Heritage listed building surveyors program
