Neil is an experienced and accomplished Project Management professional with 21 years’ experience in project management and the last 13 years delivering complex, multi-discipline programmes within challenging railway and construction environments. He is experienced in the whole life delivery of projects as both a Project and Programme Manager and thrives in delivering high profile Government funded railway investment programmes.Neil is currently delivering a high profile and transformational programme that reintroduced passenger train services between Ashington and Newcastle in 2024. Neil leads three principal delivery partners who combined deliver all of the planning, engineering, legal and operational deliverables of the programme. Neil has previously led other high profile and transformational change programmes in the north-east. Most recently he led the train fleet replacement programme for the Tyne and Wear Metro which he delivered from OBC through to design and manufacture of the new trains. Neil was instrumental in securing an investment package from Government for this programme and he was the architect of the procurement and contracting strategies.
