ABOUT NEIL AMNER

I have over 25 years experience as a contract and commercial property lawyer. I am one of Scotland\'s leading transport, environmental and parliamentary lawyers. I am a Director and the Business Resilience & Brexit Lead at Anderson Strathern LLP, a full service independent Scottish law firm with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Much of my work has involved managing high profile complex and novel matters, where working from first principles and in a collegiate manner with other lawyers, advisers and client contacts have been essential. I am solutions driven and known for sound commercial as well as legal advice. My commercial real estate experience covers the full range of purchase and sale, development, investment, landlord, tenant and funder work on residential, office, retail and industrial properties. My transport and logistics practise encompasses contractual and regulatory aspects of infrastructure and operational aspects of: • rail (passenger and freight) and tram; • roads (including freight transport, bus and coach); • aviation; and • ferries, short sea shipping and harbours. I have held top rank railway work in Scotland for several years in Chambers’ guide. I provide specialist environmental law advice including risk apportionment, interpretation and regulatory guidance on: • water and sewerage; • contaminated land regime; • waste and operational authorisation matters; • access to information issues; • consultant appointments; and • remediation contracts. I have increasingly been advising on international trade and investment matters as well as participating in both in bound and out bound trade missions.
