ABOUT NEICHELLE GUIDRY

I am a scholar, preacher, and institutional leader whose work centers Black women\'s theological wisdom and spiritual power. As Dean of Sisters Chapel and Director of the WISDOM Center at Spelman College, my staff and I have built a nationally recognized ministry that integrates introductory theological education, prophetic worship, and transformative leadership development. My scholarship in womanist homiletics and liturgical studies advances the field of worship studies while equipping practitioners for liberationist ministry that serves church and society. As an educator, I design learning experiences that integrate theological depth with cultural responsiveness, preparing students to lead diverse faith communities with integrity and prophetic imagination. My teaching draws on interdisciplinary methods and multimedia pedagogy, incorporating theology, Black feminism, poetry, film, music, and embodied practices. I mentor students as they develop theological frameworks for understanding their vocational callings and cultivate the skills necessary for effective ministry in rapidly changing contexts. My leadership extends beyond the academy into the public square. I preach regularly at conferences and congregations, deliver keynote addresses at theological institutions, and engage issues of justice through media, advocacy, and public theology. This work reflects my conviction that theology matters most when it shapes how communities worship, how leaders are formed, and how the church participates in movements for liberation and collective flourishing. I bring to my work a deep commitment to the particular genius of Black women\'s spiritual traditions and a expansive vision for how these traditions can renew Christian worship and theological education. My purpose is to help Black women—and all who are committed to justice—fulfill their destinies as leaders, scholars, and agents of transformation.
