About Neha Tara Mehta
I am a journalist and documentary filmmaker, currently on assignment with the BBC\'s investigative documentary unit, India Eye. Until recently, I was a documentary producer with Al Jazeera English, based in Doha, Qatar. Previously, I have worked for Al Jazeera in New York and New Delhi, covering domestic political, economic and feature stories for an international audience. I have also worked in the digital division of the multiple Emmy-award winning Public Affairs Television in New York, where I focused my reportage on issues of economic inequality. Besides India and America, I have reported from Pakistan, Bhutan, Australia and Italy. My photography has been featured in The Guardian, The New York Times, Al Jazeera English, The Telegraph and BillMoyers.com. I have written for Al Jazeera English online and The Huffington Post. I am a Fulbright alumna, and have a Master\'s degree from Columbia\'s Journalism school. I also have a Master’s from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs. Here, my study focus was on fragile states, and I was a Capstone consultant to the UN Department of Political Affairs on the crisis in the Sahel in West Africa.
