    Counsel in Venable’s International Trade practice, advising multinational corporations, technology companies, shipping & logistics companies, financial institutions, and nonprofit organizations on cross-border trade, sanctions, export controls, trade barriers, customs, and transportation matters. Represent global technology, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, education, telecommunications, logistics, and financial services companies, among others, on compliance with U.S. sanctions and export control laws governing activities in Russia, China, Iran, and other high-risk jurisdictions; mitigate multi-jurisdictional exposure and guide risk-appropriate decision-making and operational changes. Advise U.S, UK, and EU-based importers and manufacturers on complex customs issues, including origin, valuation, classification, tariffs, and antidumping & countervailing duties, to optimize supply chains and minimize duty exposure. Design and deliver comprehensive, tailored trade compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and training (sanctions, export controls, anti-corruption, operations in high-risk jurisdictions), for global corporations; coordinate and oversee compliance program implementations worldwide, as well as provide training.
