ABOUT NEETIKA VISHWANATH
Along with three colleagues, I lead Project 39A at National Law University, Delhi. Project 39A is among India’s leading pro bono litigation and research centre on criminal justice issues with special focus on the death penalty, legal aid, mental health & criminal justice, forensics, prevention of torture, and sentencing. As a scholar, my expertise lies in empirical legal and socio-legal research. My research so far has explored questions relating to sexual violence against women and children, death penalty, sentencing, and punishment. My role as a leader at Project 39A involves decision making on high stake strategic issues, fund raising and grant management, and ensuring smooth functioning of operations.
