As a Research Scientist at Sthyr Energy, I work on the development and optimization of zinc–air batteries (ZABs) for long duration energy storage applications. My role focuses on understanding and mitigating the challenges of the air electrode (gas diffusion electrode), particularly related to electrolyte flooding, PTFE layer stability, and pore blockage mechanisms. By combining materials engineering with electrochemical diagnostics, I aim to enhance battery lifetime and reliability. This work builds on my Ph.D. expertise in polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cells, extending it into the broader field of electrochemical energy storage.
